About

Georgia Chronaki, Counsellor/Psychotherapist

I am a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist and registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). This means that I have been approved for meeting the standards of appropriate training and experience.  I am also a Certified Practitioner in Therapeutic Play Skills after having completed specialist training in play therapy with Play Therapy UK (PTUK). In parallel, I work as University Psychology lecturer.

I have 15 years of experience working with people from all walks of life. My experience spans working with adults, children, and young people with various difficulties. This has included clinical, home, educational and research settings.

I have worked with adults with a range of mental health difficulties. Some of these included anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger difficulties, different types of abuse, self-harm, mood and personality disorders. In addition, I have counselled individuals with family and child related difficulties. I have specialist expertise in counselling for adults affected by domestic abuse.

During my PhD in Psychology, I have offered psychological support to children and young people at the Ashurst Hospital Child and Family Centre in CAMHS. I have also extensive experience working with vulnerable children in schools alongside SENDCos and educational psychologists. This included offering school counselling services (Place2Be).

Alongside my post-doctoral research, I worked in the Orchard Centre in Southampton Solent NHS Trust Child and Family Centre. In this role, I performed clinical interviews with parents and cognitive assessments with young people in a specialist ADHD clinic.

I am committed to continue improving on my ability to help individuals to live the fullest life possible.
