Types of Therapy

‘I am not defined by my scars but by my incredible ability to heal’ Lemn Sissay

As an integrative psychotherapist I draw on a variety of approaches to help you reach your goals. I discuss with you a therapy model that is a good fit for you and your needs. While we work together, I adapt my work to ensure therapy proceeds in a manner that feels comfortable to you.

My work draws on approaches such as Person-Centred Therapy, relational therapy, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. I also use methods of Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) as I adopt a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to listening to help you arrive at a better understanding of your emotions. I may include components of Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT) in my work with you. I build strong relationships with my clients and this is a key aspect of my therapeutic work.

I use theory to gain a better understanding of what you need, and I tailor therapy to meet your needs. This is facilitated by my academic background which has offered me a robust understanding of theory. I use evidence-based treatments supported by research and recommended by national and international guidelines.
